Since I'm also doing a bit of boat shopping I'd love to see your boat.
Gino- I reposted the above in case you missed it. It is interesting that you refer to what this site has become, when you just got here. For you it hasn't become anything... it is what it is when you got here. BTW- just because someone is annonimous to you doesn't mean they are annonimous(sp) it just means you don't know them.

So I started this thread to talk about the fairness of attacking a person or product from behind an assumed identity. That's what I wanted to talk about here. Because that's what this site has turned into.

Free speech carries with it a certain amount of responsibility. That's why newspapers require a person to identify themselves when writing to the editor. It seems OK to me to make posts anonymously if they relate to general sailing topics. Those types of postings are not controversial. But when someone has an agenda and attacks someone or someone's boat or product, they should have the courage to identify themselves.
    ehehehehe

it's driving you nuts, isn't it?? not knowing the outcome of things..

this is not a site..its an International forum, but you still haven't that figured out...everything said here is read all over the World..

me too..I own a Tartan 4100 and am from Chicago..there..I've identified myself, just like you did..

    So we're good now..move along...go sail

Gino, You may have filled out personal information when you signed up, but that information is not known to the membership here. You keep saying "I told everyone who I am." Please reread your 8 posts, you have told us nothing. You say you own a 4100 Tartan in Chicago, OK. I own the Queen Mary and dock it at Lake Wobegon. Now we are on equal footing. You have reservations about my statements and I have reservations about your's. I will go one up, My first name is Mike. Now you know more about me then I do about you.

Please don't take it personal, but Tartan Trolls have tried your tactics before.

Gino, all you've given is a first name, a city, and what kind of boat. Alex has provided you with that same info, if not in a post aimed directly at you, in many of his posts here on AS. Yet you continue to call him a liar. You have 8 post here, and have met no one in person. Alex has met numerous members here in person, and has talked to numerous more on the phone. We know without a doubt who he is, yet you still call him a liar and whine about free speech. Would you like some cheese with that?

Funny, I just checked your empty site profile, and read through every single post you've made and I still don't see anything close to what you state above.

Please fill out the following info for us if you are going state you've told us whom you are and that you really do own a 4100:

    Name: First______ Last_________
    Hailing Port___________________
    Boat Name___________________
    Hull #_______________________
    Home Town__________________

I'm beginning to wonder just who has the agenda and has who has been hypocritical here? Who are you "Gino"? You said you told us now either show us where or fill in the blanks please....

BTW here's the list of Tartan 4100 owners from hull #0 to hull #108. Some are missing but the vast majority are there. Perhaps you forgot to register Gino?

Like I said MaineSail, he's either not an owner, not in Chicago, or his names not Gino (gene on his original user profile page.

I can tell you from the IP address he's not in Chicago. The rest is lies too more than likely.

yes..we have a special software that allows us to see people as they type in their laptops and computers..it uses the cathode ray Wantre 12Rt to emit ionized rays back thru the keyboard

This way we can not only see but hear people while they are posting happily...

Sources say that CK's computer is so advanced it actually smells too....he uses large quantities of deodorant when he reads about Tartan....

    Mimsy,

We don't post IP addresses, no rules against it per se, but we prefer to let folks be honest.

Gino 'outted' himself by saying he has a Tartan 4100 in Chicago and providing a link to a user group that has no Tartan 4100's in Chicago, under any name.

I'm just calling a spade a spade and daring him to call me on it. I don't think he can.

Again, nothing saying that a person can't come on here and say he owns a boat that he really doesn't, they can even say they are halfway around on a circumnavigation when in fact they have never sailed.

We do, however, have rules against un-announced vendors...

That's not lipstick, it's koolaid. I'm drinking the A-S brand.

I'm thinking you saw him in the picture standing next to Ross. Maybe his lawyer or something.
