    Default Michigan city and vicinity

I am going to be vacationing with my family in Mich City from Sept 11th - 20th and was hoping to get some time on the lake. I know it will be getting late in the season. I have been getting time on a Swan 41 and went out on SC's Bene305 and have been steadily learning. I would be grateful for any opportunity on a boat and would take up any task you may need while at the dock or on the water (aside from cabin boy of course). I would also supply the steering fluid (Killian's Irish Red, Corona or whatever makes your boat steer the best). Even if sailing won't work out maybe meeting for a burger and a brew would be fun. Either way let me know.

    Thanks,

    Gary

    Gary,
    Lets talk.
I am planning on cruising from Holland and up the shore.
Departure day is Wednesday the 16th.
At this point I am going single-handed and I plan on anchoring out till Saturday.
Day 1. Holland to White Lake
Day 2. White Lake to Pentwater
Day 3. Pentawater to Portage Lake
On Saturday the 19th the plan is for my wife to meet me in Portage Lake and we are going to stay at Old Portage Inn.
The boat will than be left in Portage Lake till the following weekend when Julie and I plan on sailing home. This is al weather permitting of course.

If you would like to join on any of the short legs, you are welcome.
Transportation to and from the various ports would have to be worked out for you.
Can your wife drop you off and pick you up?
Say, drop you off in Holland early am on Wednesday and pick you up that night in White lake? Think about it.

I will check on that with her. I really appreciate the offer. I will discuss it with her and get back to you soon.

    Thanks

Tim, we might see you on the water--we're heading north from Grand Rapids starting the 9th, with our round trip ending around the 22nd.

    Hey Tim,

I really am so very grateful for the invitation to go on one of the legs with you. Unfortunately I don't thing it will work out as it would be a bit taxing on my wife to drive me up and then come back to pick me up. If it wasn't for that I would be there in a heartbeat. Gotta keep my wife sweet on the sailing thing so that I don't burn that bridge. Thanks again and hope you have a great and safe sail up the coast.

    Thanks

    Gary
